Santa’s Wonderland Rules & Regulations for Rides and Attractions

1. Purpose
These Rules & Regulations are designed to help ensure that all patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience at Santa’s Wonderland.
All patrons must comply with these Rules & Regulations, all displayed signs, and all directions given by Santa’s Wonderland staff, ride operators, contractors, stewards and officials.
2. Key Terms
In these Rules & Regulations:
Attractions means rides, ice skating, tobogganing, jumping castles, ball crawl, selfie stops, interactive activities, stage shows, amusement rides and any other activities operated or made available at Santa’s Wonderland.
Responsible adult means a parent, guardian, carer or other adult responsible for supervising a child or dependant.
Operator instructions means all verbal directions, written rules, safety signs, ride-specific restrictions, manufacturer requirements and directions given by Santa’s Wonderland staff or ride operators.
3. General Safety Requirements
Patrons must:
comply with all operator instructions;
read and follow all safety signs before participating;
wear appropriate clothing and footwear, including closed-in footwear where required;
use all restraints, safety equipment and ride features as directed;
keep hands, arms, legs and personal items inside ride areas where required;
wait until instructed before entering or exiting an Attraction;
remain seated or positioned as directed;
not push, run, climb, jump barriers or behave unsafely;
not interfere with ride equipment, barriers, gates, restraints or safety devices; and
immediately report any hazard, incident or injury to Santa’s Wonderland staff.
4. Children and Supervision
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
Some Attractions may require:
direct adult participation;
a responsible adult to remain at the ride entry;
a responsible adult to remain at the ride exit;
a responsible adult to remain within a designated viewing area; or
a responsible adult to assist the child to enter, exit or comply with safety instructions.
Santa’s Wonderland may refuse participation if a child is not adequately supervised.
5. Minimum Age, Height and Capacity Requirements
Children under 2 years of age are unable to participate in activities such as ice skating and amusement rides, including jumping castles.
To participate in applicable Attractions, children must generally be:
at least 2 years of age;
capable of sitting upright without assistance, where required; and
able to comply with operator instructions.
Each ride or Attraction may have specific height, weight, age, mobility, capacity or supervision requirements. Height restrictions start from 60 cm and are displayed at each ride location.
6. Age Limits for Certain Attractions
Some rides may have a maximum age limit of 10 years.
Children over 10 years of age may participate in suitable Attractions such as ice skating, wave rider, dodgem cars, tea cups and aeroplanes, subject to displayed restrictions and operator instructions.
Adults may participate in Attractions where permitted by the applicable ride rules and operator instructions.
These requirements are intended to support a magical and safe experience for younger patrons and older patrons who are young at heart.
7. Health and Fitness Requirements
Patrons must not participate in any Attraction if participation may be unsafe due to:
pregnancy;
injury;
illness;
medical condition;
disability or mobility limitation that affects safe participation;
heart, back, neck, bone or joint condition;
recent surgery;
dizziness, fainting, seizures or balance issues;
medication that may impair participation;
fatigue;
intoxication; or
any other condition that may be aggravated by the Attraction.
Patrons are responsible for assessing whether they, and any child or dependant under their supervision, can safely participate in an Attraction.
Additional ride operator or manufacturer-specific restrictions may apply.
8. Conduct Exclusions
A patron must not participate in an Attraction if the patron:
is under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
is behaving unsafely;
is acting aggressively, offensively or disruptively;
refuses or fails to follow operator instructions;
attempts to interfere with ride operations;
does not meet the relevant height, age, capacity or supervision requirements;
poses a safety risk to themselves, staff or other patrons; or
is otherwise considered by Santa’s Wonderland to be unable to participate safely.
Santa’s Wonderland may refuse participation, stop a ride or remove a patron from an Attraction where reasonably necessary for safety or operational reasons.
9. Attraction-Specific Rules
Each Attraction may have specific rules displayed at the ride entry or communicated by the operator.
Patrons must review and comply with those rules before participating.
Where there is any inconsistency between these general Rules & Regulations and attraction-specific operator instructions, the attraction-specific operator instructions apply.
10. Personal Items
Loose items, bags, food, drinks, phones, cameras and other personal items may not be permitted on certain Attractions.
Patrons must secure personal items as directed. Santa’s Wonderland is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal property to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Refusal of Participation
Santa’s Wonderland may refuse participation in, or remove a patron from, any Attraction where reasonably necessary for safety, security, operational or legal reasons.
Any refusal or restriction will be based on the particular Attraction’s safety requirements, operator instructions and the patron’s individual circumstances.
12. Emergency Directions
In an emergency, patrons must follow all directions given by Santa’s Wonderland staff, ride operators, stewards, security personnel and emergency services.
